Kailo is a research project led by University College London (UCL) and other partners. We work with young people, families, schools and professionals to learn how to improve young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

For most activities with young people, we will ask for your agreement (consent) before you take part whenever possible. We will also give you information about the project so you know what to expect.

Who can see your information?

Your information is stored securely and only shared with trusted research partners when needed. We never sell your personal information.

Whenever possible, we remove your name and other details so no one can identify you in reports or research findings.

How long do we keep your information?

We usually keep personal information only for as long as we need it. In many cases, this is up to five years after it is no longer needed, unless the law says we must keep it for longer.

We use secure systems and trained staff to protect your information. If there is ever a data breach, we will investigate it and take action to protect people’s information.
